Unlike the traditional revolving doors which act like squirrel cage fans that push air in and out of the building at the same time, two wing revolvers are shaped to keep the air in the drum thereby keeping a more constant temperature inside the building at all times.

What this means to the customer is this, A Besam door will continue to run properly, safely, smoothly and last a good long time under adverse conditions. We all know that a product that will stand up to abuse will last even longer under ideal conditions. We also know that there is no such thing as ideal conditions in the real world.

Revolving doors of the two wing style offer greater ingress and egress traffic flow than the traditional three and four wing can provide. Besam Entrance Solutions builds three and four wing revolvers, but the two wing is the most efficient with the smallest foot print and greatest energy efficiency. It not only saves energy in its own operation, but it saves the most building energy as well.

What this means to the user is this, most people like to get through a doorway as quickly as possible. If you have a four wing door, you must go around the perimeter of the inside drum to get through it. So, instead of going in a straight line to get into the building, you have to walk in a semicircle to get in. With a two wing you can almost walk in a perfectly straight line to get into or out of the building. This design also increases the ability to get wheelchairs, shopping carts, gurneys or even snow skis through without banging into the walls or doors. The interiors feel considerably more spacious because they are. This may seem strange to some, but many people are claustrophobic and tend to not enjoy elevators and the like. These doors are more like vestibules rather than small cages. There is essentially a more calming effect with a roomier entry than with a more cramped one.

The last point is this, when all is said and done how much usable floor space is lost at entryways to buildings. Typically checkstands, information booths or check in desks must be twenty or thirty feet from the entry doors if not even more. This is because each time the door opens and closes a hot breeze in summer or chilling wind in winter rushes in and defeats the heating and cooling systems right next to the openings. With the 2 wing design, there is negligible change in room temperature right next to the doors making it possible to use more floor space closer to the entrance than with other traditional entries.
